Snowden Psy-op Update: A Two-Fer, A Psy-op Within A Psy-op

We are deep now into the Forest of Mirrors: Snowden’s with the Ruskies.

In a prerecorded interview due to air on NBC’s “Meet The Press” Sunday, Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., describes the former NSA contractor as “a thief whom we believe had some help.

“Let me just say this. I believe there’s a reason he ended up in the hands, the loving arms, of an FSB agent in Moscow,” Rogers said, according to an early transcript provided by the program. “I don’t think that’s a coincidence.”

So this means that the Russians had a mole with access to sensitive NSA data (which, of course, is a joke because none of the stuff Snowball allegedly leaked is sensitive, but let’s play along for a while), and they had him reveal this fact to the world by having him leak it to Western-intelligence aligned media, thereby losing him as a mole.

Or did Snowden betray his alleged collaborators when he allegedly leaked? If so, this eliminates the ‘warm welcome’ theory espoused by Mike Rogers. Either way it doesn’t make any sense. Rogers doesn’t believe it, and neither should you.

And next we have the eminence grise of l’affaire Snowden, Glen Greenwald, providing evidence that the US’ own spook services don’t believe Snowden was working in cahoots with anybody inside the NSA or abroad. Greenwald versus Rogers, whom do you believe?

Liberals (i.e. idiots slightly left of center in the American political spectrum) will believe Agent Greenwald (not believing that he is an agent). Conservatives (those idiots slightly to the right of the aforementioned liberal idiots) will believe Representative Rogers.

Wrong on both counts. Greenwald’s cover as a ‘journalist’ has been blown sky high by now, but the bourgeois press is still depicting him as a maverick trust-busting, secrecy-bashing tribune of the people, noxious and risible as the charade is. Rogers here is cast as a conservative American stalwart, who quite rightly is loyal to his country, right or wrong, to the end.

This is theater folks. Snowden doesn’t work for the Russians or the Chinese, and Greenwald doesn’t work for the American people. Snowden, Greenwald, and Rogers all work for the empire, they work for the ruling class, they work for capital. And the article linked below is just another mirror in the forest.

There is a second contribution from Greenwald here in which he mocks the attitudes of conservatives by invoking the forest sprites of psy-ops past: Bob “ONI” Woodward, Daniel “Rand Corporation” Ellsburg etc. A psy-op within a psy-op within a psy-op, the head spins.
