Afro-racist Propaganda Alert: Before Columbus: How Africans Brought Civilization To America

Racism, as so many fail to understand, is optimized to work both ways, and does. It is not only designed to make the privileged see the world in racist terms, it likewise acts to make the disprivileged succumb to the same myopia. Afrocentrism, as you will read, is just as vapid and venal as Euro-centrism.

Here is the comment (not yet approved) I made under the article:

How sad to see this Afro-racist drivel at this web site. I don’t know where to begin…

“The Olmec civilization, which was of African origin and dominated by Africans, was the first significant civilization in Mesoamerica and the Mother Culture of Mexico…Clearly, Africans helped civilize America well before Europeans “discovered” America…”

What racist filth! Why does the Afro-fascist who wrote these ugly words find it necessary to believe that the indigenous people of the Americas need the help of Africans to be “civilized”? Why does s/he find it so hard to believe that the Olmecs could not develop a sophisticated astronomy without reliance on exogenous sources?

Let’s see now, we know the Olmec language and the author of this disgusting bit of racism cannot find one linguist who will assert that it is of African origin. It is in fact closely related to nuhuatl, the Aztec language. There has been a good deal of genetic testing done and there is absolutely NO indication of any African lineage in the descendants of the Olmecs or any other Meso-Americans. None! But people believe what they want to believe, particularly racists like the author.

Not satisfied with bashing one race, the author moves on to another: “Sadly, America, in post-Columbus times, was founded on the genocide of the indigenous Americans, built on the backs of African slaves and continues to run on the exploitation of workers at home and abroad..”

Genocide, not to mention slavery and imperialism, existed in the new world long before any White man set foot here, just as they did in Africa. This in no way excuses Euro-imperialism, but it is simply racist hogwash to attribute these horrific vices to one race in the history of the Americas. It is rather instructive to note that the author says “Throughout all of these travels, African explorers have not had a history of starting devastating wars on the people they met.,” yet the same “documents” he cites which suggest the Abu Bakari sailed to the new world also say that he made war on the some of the peoples he encountered there. S/he seems to have forgotten this detail as this alleged African explorer did start wars with the people he encountered. According to the story, the Malians set out with goods for trade AND soldiers (just like Columbus) and made war on those Americans who did not cooperate (just like Columbus). S/he also fails to mention that the Malian Empire was just that—an empire. One which was aggressively acquisitive and made several successful unprovoked wars against her neighbors. It also was an empire which enslaved large numbers of people (including Europeans) some captured and some purchased.

“As time allows us to drift further and further away from the “European age of exploration” and we move beyond an age of racial intellectual prejudice.” Indeed! I hope so. But the author certainly isn’t drifting away from “racial intellectual prejudice” is s/he! Substituting African racism for the European variant isn’t the solution, it’s just another form of the old problem.

How disappointing to find this article on this website.
